Surviving PTSD (Parental Traumatic Stress Disorder)! Unfortunately, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are relatively common. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 60 percent of the population reports at least one ACE. Can Children Get PTSD from Their Parents? It is possible for children to show signs of PTSD because they are upset by their parent’s symptoms. Trauma symptoms can also be passed from parent to child or between generations.
